"It was an incredible experience I was able to share with other WOC in Oregon. Learning a sport as an adult is challenging, but also so exciting and rewarding. Being able to do this in a safe with POC of the outdoor community made it that much more special. Helen and Catalina were such supportive educators, and not just during the retreat itself. I’ve been very grateful they’ve been so helpful and responsive when I’ve asked them questions months in advance about gear, etc. If it wasn’t for the retreat I probably wouldn’t be surfing today."
